Madison County, Madison Warrant Search

Warrants are usually issued by judges of Circuit, General, and Municipal Courts. However, Chancery Court judges also have the authority to issue warrants, since, under state law (Tenn. Code Ann. § 40-1-106), they are defined as magistrates, authorities designated by state law to approve arrest and search warrants.

People can approach the custodian of the relevant court to obtain these documents. However, warrants typically become public only after they are executed. At the same time, police agencies often allow members of the public to view warrant information to aid law enforcement in catching wanted persons.

Interested record seekers can also contact the Sheriff's Warrants Division for information about these documents.
